Brown County has been known as a "creative center" for over 100 years with the founding of the art colony in 1907 by T.C. Steel and his fellow artists known as the Hoosier Group of Impressionists. In the 1970's many "free spirits" flocked to area and opened shops featuring local arts and crafts. The area has continued to grow and now boasts over 200 shops and galleries, numerous lodging establishments and Indiana’s largest State Park. The area is perfect for a new start up business venture or existing business expansion that requires an artistic and creative environment. We welcome all forms of the Arts Industry to apply.
